High School

The high school years are filled with opportunities.  Opportunities for students to learn, grow and mature in academics,  character, athletics, social relationships, leadership, personal faith and in relationship with Jesus Christ.  High school students also are forming the worldview from which they will interpret and engage the culture.

The pervasive view today is that teens should be or insist upon being left alone to find or discover themselves.  We believe that God's design is for parents and other mature adults to be purposely involved in the maturing process of emerging adults, helping them to develop a biblical worldview and working with them to identify and pursue academic, social and spiritual goals. At Covenant Life School, we partner with parents and students to accomplish these goals in an educational setting.

Our faculty is gifted, exemplary in character, passionate about the Lord, their subject and their students, and desirous of helping students discover their gifts and talents. We help students to grow in seeking to serve the Lord in every facet of their lives.  Teachers do much more than teach what they know.  Godly teachers impart who they are and model how to live life as mature followers of Christ.

The Christian school classroom is a unique and wonderful place, a protected and safe environment where students are encouraged to ask the hard questions, and where they learn to accept, encourage and challenge their peers. They learn how to apply a biblical worldview, or in other words, how to think biblically. Students also learn from God's Word and encounter God together in Bible class, in chapel and in fellowship opportunities. We seek to model and nurture the desire to live passionately for the Lord.

Covenant Life has a competitive college preparatory program with high academic and personal character standards.  Our curriculum and program trains students to take initiative and responsibility for their own learning, and helps them develop study habits and life disciplines that serve them in college and beyond.  Although we are a small school, and we challenge our top students with honors and advanced placement (AP) courses, we seek to provide a broad spectrum of courses that meet our students' needs, interests and abilities, including general math, art, music and band, and computer classes.

Extracurricular activities provide a wide range of experiences and expand learning beyond the classroom.  Students participate in JV and varsity athletics, service projects, week-long work internships, and leadership development programs and opportunities such as student council, the National Honor Society, worship band, music and art competitions, yearbook and the school newspaper.

There is solid evidence that Christian schooling affects and prepares students spiritually, academically and socially for the rest of their lives.  Covenant Life School stands in that strong tradition of excellence.
